SF2815

Ingredients
* 4 cups base
(beeswax, cocoa butter [or half and half])
* 5 droppers full of flower essences
(lotus, chamomile, rose, poppy)
* A handful or so of the following herbs
(linden, lavendar, hops, dittany of Crete, skullcap, wild lettuce)
* 15 to 20 drops each of essential oils
(clary sage, mugwort,sandalwood, jasmine)
* 5 to 7 drops tincture of benzoin
(a preservative, available at health food stores)

Method
In a non-metal double broiler pot, melt base slowly over low heat. Introduce herbs immediately into warm base and cook carefully over very low flame, stirring continuously for exactly 30 minutes. Strain out herbs with cheesecloth, put base back in pot, take off heat. Wait 25-30 seconds and stir in flower essences, essential oils, and tincture of benzoin.

Pour into heat-proof jars, let cool. To store, close jar tightly and keep in refrigerator, or a cool, dark place. Will keep for about 1 month. Do not freeze.

CAUTIONS
* When getting ready to use ointment, avoid caffeine for 24 hours before applying, as it will counteract effects. (And if someone uses too much ointment and doesn’t want to return, caffeine will help bring them back.)
* Do not use the ointment lightly: TREAT IT WITH RESPECT.
* Apply a thin coat to inside of wrist. Wait 30 minutes for effect before applying on throat or temple.
* Avoid mucuous membranes (inside of nose, mouth, or other moist places).
* Do not use this ointment if you are pregnant, have high blood pressure or notice an allergic reaction on the skin after first application.
* NEVER TAKE INTERNALLY.
* Don’t fly more than once a month, since it is stressful to the body.
* Don’t fly alone – always have someone watching who is not flying, to be sure you come back.

There once lived a tribal man who was a hunter and a staunch Shiva devotee. He used to go for hunting on all days to feed his family. One day the hunter lost his way while hunting and was trapped in the forest at night.

Soon wild animals started to gather around him and he climbed a Bel or Bilvatree. Sitting there he remembered his wife and children and tears started rolling from his eyes. In order to keep himself awake, he started plucking Bilva leaves and dropped it down repeating ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ – the Panchakshari Mantra. The hunter unknowingly fasted the whole day and did not sleep in the night.

In the morning, he discovered that he had been dropping the Bilva leaves on a Shivlingam. The Shivling was also washed with his tears. He returned home and when he was about have his food, a beggar came at his door. The hunter fed the beggar and then had his food.

The beggar was Lord Shiva himself and the hunter had darshan of Bholenath and was able to feed Mahadeva, who feeds all the living beings. And the hunter realized the beggar was Shiva when he died and was carried to the Shivaloka.
